Taking the advantage of beautiful September weather, I visited another amazing garden in County Carlow, which is Delta Sensory Gardens.
Is it worth visiting Delta Sensory Gardens in September? Definitely, well worth a visit. The gardens were glowing and gorgeous, still green and a lot of plants were in bloom.
The last time when I was in Delta Sensory Gardens was on the 31st of October 2021 during their annual Halloween event.
Also, I`ve been there in May 2021 and in the Summer of 2021.
Moreover, I visited Delta Sensory Gardens at Christmas time, when they switched on the Christmas lights in the gardens.
So, I have visited the Gardens many times and have always been delighted. These delightful gardens enchant all ages and abilities. They have been voted the best place to visit in County Carlow by Trip Advisor for several years running. And described as 2.5 acres of ‘An Oasis of Peace and Tranquillity’.
The Gardens feature 16 interconnected multi-sensory gardens:
- Circle of Life Garden, Memorial Garden, Five Senses Garden, Stolen Child Garden, Roof Garden, Formal Rose Garden, Mediterranean Garden, Willow Garden, Sculpture Garden, Games Garden, Peace Garden, Woodland Garden, Iris O`Brien Health and Wellness Garden, The Pavilion, The Waterfalls, Patio Garden.
This time, the most I liked Iris O’Brien Health and Wellness Garden and The Waterfall. And of course the famous Kugal – one tonne of pink marble floating on a cushion of water in Five Senses Garden.
After strolling through the Gardens I went for lunch at the on-site cafe and restaurant Café Thyme.
The Caffe and the Gardens are open from Monday to Friday: 9 am – 5.00 pm. Weekends and Public Holidays: 11 am – 5.00 pm. What`s more, the tickets are only €5 for adults and children under 13 years FREE.
