Anatolia Cafe & Restaurant, Co. Kilkenny

After visiting Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum, and Nicholas Mosse Visitors` Centre, we went to Kilkenny town for dinner to Anatolia Cafe & Restaurant.

Anatolia Cafe & Restaurant is based at Rose Inn Street 22/23, Kilkenny town, in County Kilkenny.

It is a Turkish cuisine. They serve authentic Turkish food from delicious salads, soups, sandwiches, Kebabs, vegetarian options and turkish dessert and drink. Anatolia is often described Best Turkish kebab in Ireland.

I never been in a turkish restaurant before. First time I drank Ayran, that is a tangy and salty Turkish yoghurt drink. It’s pretty much omnipresent across the country, and is an excellent match for many Turkish foods, especially kebabs. They also serve a Turkish bread, also known as “bazlama,” is a traditional delight hailing from the rich culinary heritage of Turkey.

I had a lamb kebab meal, with rice and salads. Very large portions full of flavour and fresh ingredients. Very tasty and well presented. Menu has something for everyone on it. Great service by friendly staff. Really nice spot for casual dinner.

And for dessert, we got Baklava, that is a layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with syrup or honey. I wish I did not try a turkish coffe there.
