
Newbridge is a contemporary shopper’s paradise, especially if you are interested in buying clothing. In Newbridge is housing Whitewater Shopping Centre ( the largest regional shopping center in Ireland) and shops such as Penneys and TK Maxx.
Newbridge is best known for Newbridge Silverware and The Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre is highly recommended on the tourist trail of Ireland’s Ancient East.
Newbridge Silverware is famous for the design and production of high-quality cutlery, jewelry and giftware made by qualified craftsmen, with decades of experience. The company is considered a leader in its field in the whole of Ireland, and its products are highly valued throughout Europe.

In 1993, William Doyle took over as chief executive after his father, Dominic, passed away. Under Doyle the company expanded its product lines to include jewellery.
Since 1934, Newbridge Silverware has been the leading producer and designer of gift products in Ireland, incl. jewelry, cutlery, tableware, etc. The brand is associated with many famous characters such as supermodel Sophie Dahl, Hollywood actresses incl. Linda Gray and the legendary icon of style Audrey Hepburn. One of the most interesting and sought-after collections is Duchess Grace Jewelery Collection. In 2016, model Naomi Campbell became the face of Newbridge Silverware. Recently added collection of Vintage Pre-Owned Luxe jewellery with names like Dior, Oscar De La Renta and Trifari.
In 2007, the Museum of Style Icons was established at the Newbridge store and contains pieces of fashion history, including the hot pink cocktail dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Today the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre is an award winning attraction. It features the flagship Lifestyle store, the world renowned Museum of Style Icons, the craft Factory and the award-winning Domo’s Emporium Café & Food Hall. The factory, where for decades the team have been creating ranges of tableware, jewellery and giftware was recently opened to the public.
The Visitor Centre is open 7 days and entry to the Museum of Style Icons is free but due to government guidelines, the factory tour is temporarily closed.
Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre is fabulous and unique place and have something for everyone. It ranks fifth among the most visited free attractions in Ireland, with an annual number of visitors reaching 350,000.
I went there before Christmas, hence the pictures below show the Christmas decorations and the entire Centre is in a festive setting. There was also a whole department only with Christmas decorations and gifts.
NewBridge is easily accessible by train from Carlow town in around half an hour. Same from Dublin to NewBridge – train time approx. 30 min.
