Carlow Town`s Christmas Light 2020

Every year I took part in the ceremony of the Christmas Lights switch on at Carlow town. It was my favorite Winter’s Event. Especially I liked Éist Candlelight Walk of Hope.

The Éist Cancer Support Centre Carlow annual Candlelight Walk of Hope 2020, was virtual this year and took place on Saturday 21st November at 4.30 pm.

As we couldn`t come together this year for the annual Candlelight Walk of Hope Ceremony, we would light a candle at home at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of the physical walk and annual candle sales event, we could make an online donation to Éist Cancer Support Centre.

We all miss events like this. Every year thousands of people join in a candle-lit walk. It was an annual really special event for the entire community of Carlow. We were walking through the Town led by the Carlow Pipe Band, Carlow Regional Youth Services, Santa, and Wibbly Wobbly Wendy to the Liberty Tree fountain for the turning on of the Christmas Lights. Santa collected the first letters at the postbox on Castle Hill. Mayor Murnane switched on the Christmas Lights, which has kick-started a month of Festive Family Fun across the county.

This year we had Carlow Town`s Christmas Light 2020 as a Virtual Light Ceremony.

The Mayor and Santa were lighting the lights in Carlow live on Facebook on Saturday 21st November.

Today like every year Santa post box appeared on Castle Street.

Also, Carlow town`s pubs are joining with thousands of pubs across the country and turning their Christmas Lights. This is to highlight their readiness to reopen safely.

Since today every evening, we can admire beautiful lights on the main streets of Carlow town. The Christmas season officially begun.

Below are my photos just after switching on Carlow Town`s Christmas Light 2020.
