Éist Candlelight Walk of Hope & Carlow Town Christmas Lights switch on 2018

The Éist Cancer Support Centre Carlow annual Candlelight Walk of Hope 2018 took place on Saturday 24th November. And starting at 4.30 pm from the Bank of Ireland, Shamrock Plaza, Carlow Town.

Éist Cancer Support Centre provides emotional support. Also practical help to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis, their families, and carers.

“Candlelight walk of hope” special walk is in memory of those who have lost their lives to Cancer. And those who are suffering from the disease.

So we walked through the Town led by the Carlow Pipe Band and Carlow Regional Youth Services. Also with Santa, and Wibbly Wobbly Wendy to the Liberty Tree fountain for the turn-on of the Christmas Lights.

Thousand people joined to candle-lit walk. It is an annual really special event for the entire community in Carlow.

Santa collected the first letters at the postbox on Castle Hill, this evening before the turn on the Christmas lights.

Then, Mayor Murnane switched on the Christmas Lights for 2018, which kick-started a month of Festive Family Fun across the county.

I made a video (you can find it on my YouTube channel):
