Amazing place for all nature lovers. Oak Park Forest Park is a great place to visit all year round and especially in Spring.
I visited Oak Park Forest Park again, this time in Spring. In March when it was much hotter and more green compared to my last visit in January. This time I wanted to see the lake and the Oak House.
So I walked through the Butlers Wood Loop (700 meters) and the Lake Path (800 meters).
The Lake Path walk brings you past the lake in some places where you will see swans and ducks as well as other wildlife. The lake loop is short but gives great views. Also, there is a view of Oak House.
I have to say Oak Park Forest Park is my favorite park in County Carlow now. An ideal place for leisurely strolls and walks, a visit here is a relaxing and pleasurable experience.
Access is also possible off Cannery Road close to the Athy Road junction in Carlow Town. Opening times: Year round daily, daylight hours.
