Curracloe Beach, Co. Wexford

It is not surprising that Curracloe Beach in County Wexford won ‘Ireland’s Best Beach’ for the 2022 Reader Travel Awards.

No.1 from Irish beaches, the most beautiful, the cleanest, Blue Flag, an amazing beach with a stunning forest trail beside it, is Curracloe. I fell in love with this beach from my first visit in July.

I was delighted I could visit Curracloe again in August. This time I spent almost all day there and walked much farther to the shore of the beach. There were not many people so I felt like the beach was only mine. It was fabulous to have a long walk, enjoy the sea and relax.

The weather was fine, not too warm, not too windy. And amazing, breathtaking views, different depending if the sun was coming out or setting. What I love is that this beach has an unreal amount of beautiful rocks and shells. Most of them were broken but searching for the good ones was great fun. I walked a few kilometers.

Curracloe Beach is located 75,5 km (through the N80) from Carlow Town which is about a 1h 15 minutes drive.
