After strolling through the Delta Sensory Gardens I went for lunch at the on-site cafe and restaurant Café Thyme.
The Delta Sensory Gardens are part of the Delta Centre which is a center for adults with intellectual disabilities.
The sensory theatre building in the Gardens houses a reception, toilet facilities, a colorful indoor musical fountain, and an activities room. Attached to this building is Café Thyme which serves delicious cuisine throughout the day and linked to this is a small garden Centre.
At Café Thyme all the food is homemade and fresh on-site.
The menu includes delicious dishes like the Delta Ploughman’s (which is served on treacle & walnut bread), Café Thyme Classic Caesar Salad, and also Pepper Turkey with Chorizo & Herb Stuffing (served on toasted sourdough bread).
Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices are available.
So, Café Thyme here at the Delta sensory gardens is a lovely cafe and casual dining spot. Also with takeaway items. Serves freshly and locally sourced produce. Breakfast is Monday to Friday and a very extensive and ever-changing healthy tasty and unique lunch menu is served 7 days a.
Daily produced fresh and deliciously different flavored scones and bread to eat in or take away. Also, a lot of sweet treats to enjoy with coffee.
For my lunch, I had a kids’ menu: chicken goujons and chips. And for dessert delicious pecan nut pie and a mocha coffee.
There are also displays of beautiful local arts and crafts available to buy.
The Caffe and the Gardens are open from Monday to Friday: 9 am – 5.00 pm. Weekends and Public Holidays: 11 am – 5.00 pm.
