After a very enjoyable walk through Raven Nature Reserve, I went to Curracloe Beach. Can’t imagine my summer holiday without visiting this amazing beach.
Curracloe’s white sandy beach stretches from Raven Point to Ballyconigar near Blackwater. And is a stunning stretch of the Irish coastline in County Wexford.
Curracloe Beach is No.1 among Irish beaches, one of the most beautiful, the cleanest, Blue Flag and with “miles and miles of sand”.
Furthermore, it has been named Ireland’s best beach by readers of the Sunday Independent. As well as ‘Ireland’s Best Beach’ for the 2022 Reader Travel Awards.
And it’s not the first time when Curracloe has won ‘Ireland’s Best Beach’.
Ireland’s best beach 2022 has been voted by Irish Independent readers to be Curracloe Beach in Co. Wexford.
Arguably best known for its appearance in the movie ‘Saving Private Ryan’ and ‘Brooklyn’. This is one of the best-known beaches in County Wexford. It’s a great spot for walking, swimming, and surfing.
I love Curracloe Beach because is so long. It is a 7-mile-long beach (over 11km). So I can have a long walk, enjoy the sea and relax. So the best thing is that this beach is never crowded because is so long.
Every time when I am here I am delighted with its beautiful white and soft sand. Also, I pick up some beautiful rocks and shells. Again the weather was gorgeous on the day I went there. So, I enjoyed the amazing views and stopped for sunbathing as well.
Besides, Curracloe Strand has three separate access points along its length and the sections of the beach are named after these. From north to south, there is Ballinesker, White Gap, and Culletons Gap. These all have wooden boardwalks running from car parks down to the beach with Ballinesker accessible in a wheelchair. White Gap is the largest and Culletons Gap is bordered by the Raven Nature Reserve and forestry. summer days.
I recommend stopping in the car park at The Raven Nature Reserve.
What`s more, it is free and not full even on busy summer days. Then you can enjoy walking through the forest before you will come to the beach.

The small village is on the doorstep with a supermarket, post office, takeaway, and pub. What`s more, there is also St Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church.
