It is not surprising that Curracloe Beach in County Wexford wins ‘Ireland’s Best Beach’ for the 2022 Reader Travel Awards.
No.1 from Irish beaches, the most beautiful, the cleanest, Blue Flag, an amazing beach with a stunning forest trail beside it, is Curracloe. I fell in love with this beach from my first visit in July.
I was delighted I could visit Curracloe again in August. This time I spend almost all day there and walked much farther to the shore of the beach. There were not many people so I could feel like the beach was only mine. It was fabulous to have a long walk, enjoy the sea and relax.
The weather was fine, not too warm, not too windy. Amazing, breathtaking views, different depending if the sun was coming out or setting. And what I love is this beach has an unreal amount of beautiful rocks and shells. Most of them were broken but it was great fun to search for the good ones.
Curracloe Beach has located 75,5 km (through the N80) from Carlow Town which is about a 1h 15 minutes drive.
